Midpoint · WGS84
Initial bearing from true north. Not corrected for magnetic declination.
Method
Place points A and B or enter their WGS84 coordinates. The tool calculates geodesic distance, initial bearing in each direction and the midpoint along the great-circle path. Bearings are measured clockwise from true north: north is 0°, east 90°, south 180° and west 270°.
Example
Swap A and B to compare the initial bearings. On a curved Earth they do not always differ by exactly 180°. Coincident points have no defined bearing; antipodal points have no unique shortest-path midpoint.
