Method
Choose distance or area, then place points on the map. Distance is the sum of the geodesic segments between consecutive points. Area closes the boundary between the last and first point and uses Turf's spherical area calculation. At least three points are needed for an area. Follow bends with additional points rather than drawing across them.
Example
A 100 × 100 metre square covers approximately 10,000 m², or one hectare. One square kilometre equals 100 hectares. Small differences are expected because map geometry is calculated on a curved Earth model.
